Two Ways to Live
Psalm 1
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
"I Will Delight" Fernando Ortega
An early song from Fernando Ortega on the 1992 Praise 15 CD. This song is based on Psalm chapter 1. As Christians we must daily feed on Gods Word and obey it.

Hi Charlotte!
Just watched the ANOINTED video of Fernando Ortega singing Psalm 1!
You know, this video brought to mind a burden that I have about the Word of God and the believer.
I have encountered Biblical illiteracy among many believers through the years. How many are there who just don't know the Word for themselves? :(
There is a tremendous co- dependant mentality throughout the Body of Messiah, on hearing the Word solely from the PASTOR etc. without bringing their own Bible to service, and WITHOUT STUDY of the Word to show themselves approved by God...:(
I recently ministered to a believer who was believing God for the desire of their heart...they didn't even know one scripture or own a Bible!
Today some believers in this hour are foolishly moved by ungodly counsel, some are not bearing fruit and their spiritual life is withering away.
Believers pray: "God create in me a hunger for Your Word" Read John 15.
...He will surely answer! :)
Blessings,

Hi SHIRAH,
I sometimes forget that Biblical illiteracy does exsist.
So for anyone looking for a free bible. Here is a link from About.com with suggestions for getting a free bible.

SHIRAH also mentioned that believers should PRAY "God create in me a hunger for Your Word."
If you do pray these words the Holy Spirit will help you hunger and thirst for his word. I know this because I do!
SHIRAH also mentioned reading John chapter 15 where Jesus said:
"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; APART FROM ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING.
If anyone DOES NOT REMAIN IN ME, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
If you remain in me and MY WORDS REMAIN IN YOU, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. THIS IS TO MY FATHER'S GLORY, that you bear MUCH FRUIT, showing yourselves to be MY disciples.
(John 15:1-8)
On Friday, I will post an article that relates to this teaching!
God bless,
Charlotte
