Stick-to-itiveness

Stick-to-itiveness

"Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love." 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Halford E. Luccock tells of a committee meeting to decide on an appropriate theme for a stain-glass window to be placed in a church in memory of one of it's members. One woman siad: "I suppose this is not an acceptable Christian symbol, but I would like to see portrayed in stained glass a pot of glue? This is what our friend was - a pot of strong glue. He held this church together!" What a splendid tribute to a man who stuck to his faith, helped others stick to the faith, and as a result made them stick together! Christ fervently prayed that we all might be one. Blessed is the man who is an answer to his prayer.

The home, the Chruch, and the world have been broken into many pieces, and the chaos must cause God agony. If we would each become a gluepot, like the man referred to above, we could mend the breaks; we could hold fast the weak. Love is the common ingredient.

Today do this: Patch up a hurt.

READ: John 17:20-26

PRAY: Our Father, so fill us with love that it will spill over into the lives of those about us. Make us all one, just as they Son did pray. In his Holy name. Amen.
